What writing In All Honesty is all about
A look back on the evolution of what this column offers
IN ALL HONESTY | AT A GLANCE
This week’s column is for both free AND paid subscribers, and it holds:
a featured story on what you can expect to find In All Honesty
a somatic invitation to stay open when you feel like closing up
a writing prompt to reflect on
a few favorites I’ve been loving lately
a space to deepen the conversation in community comments
The more I write, the more I understand why I write. And since launching this column on May 5th, 2023, I’ve watched my focus sharpen, my mission become more clear. So, it feels like a a good time to reintroduce what writing (and reading) In All Honesty is all about!
In All Honesty is a somatic exploration of what it feels like to walk in integrity.
Like an adventurer on a quest, each column offers up a place for me to journey through my Inner Space, collecting clues that point me in the direction of being True.
Here, I aim to share:
prose that illuminate my subtle shifts towards a more undivided being.
practices that help you cultivate your somatic perception skills.
prompts that encourage you to articulate the way you experience the world.
And I am so grateful for the readers who support my writing and my fascination with the mind-body connection, nervous system work and cultivating compassion for ourselves and others. It’s an honor to write for you.

Our bodies are constantly communicating with us through our sensations. So, if we’re not paying attention to our sensations, our somatic, body-based responses, we’re missing a lot of valuable insight.
Why does all of this even matter?
In a culture that’s quick to dictate what we should care about and how we should live, it can be all too easy to lose sight of who we really are. But what if we were honest with ourselves? What if we were honest with the world? I wonder about the ripple effects that each tiny act of bravely pursuing integrity could have on our communities.
“Shalom, I believe these writings are beneficial to diving into the core aspects of humanity. This is a place where everyone needs to assess, evaluate and constantly elevate in our daily lives. Thank You for your inspirations💜" -Lynnicia H.

And most importantly —
Thank you for being here; I appreciate your presence in this space. May this column continue to inspire you to marvel at the extraordinary curiosities of being YOU!
Stay open when you feel like curling inward.
When we close in ourselves during stressful moments, it’s harder to detect subtle cues and sensation in ourselves and others. Instead, play with opening your chest, breathe in deeply, and remind your shoulders to relax back.
Do you notice you can be more present in the moment? Do you notice you can think more clearly and compassionately about how to navigate what’s in front of you? I wonder…
Who are you today?
Much like this very columns, we’ve each landed in this moment after many twists and many turns. Feel into the version of who you are. What subtleties can you notice about yourself? What calls to you right now?
Ex.) Today, I am someone who pauses the audio message I really wanted to listen to instead of trying to pause the sounds of my children being children. Today, I am someone who notices a pattern of ruminating thoughts and makes a plan to reach out to a trusted mentor for advice.
If you feel called to do so, comment below with your response.

Rest well this weekend.
